We can't work out why, but there is a printing error in the booklet of vol.3 of the CDs. It was OK at proof stage, but somewhere between proof and printing, the text got rolled back and the track note for the bonus track on vol.2 appears instead of the vol.3 text.

We can only apologise for what is, when everything else has been so meticulous, a great embarrassment. We also apologise to the the reviewers who were misled by the printed text. The track note for the bonus track on volume 3 should read:-

20. BONUS TRACK: Crossing The Bar (Tennyson/Arbo) (3.32) - Jeff Warner
This is not, of course, a shanty - nor was it sung by John Short.  It is a poem, written by Alfred Lord Tennyson, and it was read as part of John Short’s funeral service - it seems entirely appropriate given what we know of the man and his attitudes.  Having used it in presentations about John Short, we just couldn't resist including it.  This setting is by Rani Arbo of Connecticut.
