Every Monday: Shammick Songwriters Group meet in Combe Martin. see songwriters

Every Wednesday: Bideford Folk Dance Club is held at the Bridge Hall, Bideford. Enquiries to Pat Kenworthy at 01271 860193.
Every Thursday: The Bideford Folk Club is held upstairs at the Joiners Arms, Market Street. A well attended and active club. Spring Bank Holiday weekend annually: Combe Martin's own Hobby Horse custom - The Hunting of the Earl of Rone - takes place over 4 days, starting on the Friday evening, with the climax on the Monday night. Christmas season each year: Every year since 1970. the North Devon Mummers have taken to the highways and byways (but mostly to the village pubs) performing the local St. George play and collecting for charity.  Performances usually take place on about 10 nights between the 15th of December and Twelfth Night. Click HERE for 2006/7 programme.
